Course Log for 07/21-07/27/2002

If I decide to keep a daily log, I'll create a new page like this one for each new day. I'll make sure to change the title and update the "most recent posting" link on the home page each time (Tripod 2001).

My instructor and I have been e-mailing today about my need for more feedback:  through the discussion questions and with our evaluation form.  I had contacted my Academic Advisor last week, but now I feel that we will work this out.

This week Velveeta and I have another team paper due, but I don't think this will be as challenging as the previous assignment.

I was able to finish writing the Quantitative portion of the team paper which is due today.  In addition, I began searching for references on Ethics.  An individual paper is due in Week 5 where I will need to develop a personal definition of ethics and defend my stance.  Click on the link below to access a bibliography of references on Ethics.

Bibliography on Ethics

Thursday, July 25

Today is the first day of the UoPhx academic week.  We are starting Week 4 in QNT 540.  Most of our assignments this week are Team activities:  Penny Activity, a Descriptive Statistics worksheet, ...

I will begin reading Ethics papers (see the bibliography above), as well as finishing ETHICS FOR A NEW MILLENIUM by the Dalai Lama (1999).  There are a number of ethical issues here at work and at church which might be candidates for our team ethical issues presentation in Week 5.

Friday, July 26

Velveeta and I have finished the Penny Activity. I will work on the Descriptive Statistics worksheet tonight. Then we have a Practical Application Paper due next Wednesday.

The Penny Activity was not explained well at all. At least I never found where detailed instructions were given. I pretty much winged it. If I had not had other statistics courses before now, I don't think I would have been successful.

Grandma Rocking

I decided today (Thurs, July 25, 2002) to create another Tripod site for all of my PowerPoint presentations.  I would like to get rid of Grandmother's Books OR copy all of that to the new website.  However, I have not found the way to do that yet.

I took a 60-day leave of absence between EDTC 526 and QNT 540.  It was a really well-needed break.  I feel like I might cope pretty well through this course.  Mary and I will be traveling one weekend during this course.  I intend to use the public library in Lawrence, KS to participate in class.
